How to Add a Self-Hosted Email Account to an iOS Device
To begin, First tap the “Settings” icon on the home screen.
On the right side of “Settings” screen >> tap “Mail, Contacts, Calendars”.
From right side of the screen, tap “Add Account”.
From list of email account types >> tap “Other”.
In the “Mail” section >> tap “Add Mail Account”.
On the “New Account” dialog box:-
Enter your “Name”, “Email”, “Password”, and “Description” of account you want to add >> Tap Next

Now you need to set up your email account using IMAP or POP.
- In the “Incoming Mail Server” section >> enter the “Host Name”, “User Name”, and “Password”.
- Now enter the same information for the “Outgoing Mail Server”.
- “User Name” and “Password” are optional for the “Outgoing Mail Server”.
- Check with company hosting your domain and email accounts in order to confirm for the host names for the incoming and outgoing mail servers. Now Tap “Next”
On the “IMAP” dialog box, select items you want to sync on your iOS device >> then tap “Save”.
In the “Accounts” section, you’ll get account added to list.
To change settings for the new account >> tap on new account from list of “Accounts”.
Under “IMAP”, tap “Account”.
From bottom of the “Account” dialog box >> tap “Advanced”.
By default, when you delete email message from IMAP account in Mail app on iOS device, message is deleted after one week from server. This give a chance to download the message from other mail clients you use onto other devices. You can adjust this time frame via tapping “Remove” on the “Advanced” dialog box.

On the “Remove” dialog box >> select a desired timeframe. Your new selection displays to the right of “Remove”.
Close “Advanced” dialog box by tapping “Account”.
Now you are on “Account” dialog box >> tap “Done” to close it.
Tap the “Mail” icon to open the app.
New added email account displays in list of “Mailboxes” >> Tap the name of your new email account in order to access your email.
This procedure will also work on all iPhones, iPad.
